I brought my Jetboil french press with me when i proposed to my girlfriend (now wife) at a bonfire in the middle of january in ohio. I don’t think we actually drank the coffee but the fact that it was made on a jet boil, at a bonfire, where i proposed made it pretty awesome

Best coffee I’ve ever had is this summer in the boundary waters. Every morning we had the percolator on the fire which inspired my friend to sing the Black Eyed Peas (with percolator added as a lyric) and enjoyed looking out at the lakes. Amazing!
My favorite coffee ever is campfire coffee. It is one of the more important parts of family camping vacations.
I remember the first time iwAs able to drink coffee without struggling to swallow it. I was sitting in a shop in Milwaukee and wanted so badly to able to ask someone out for a coffee date. I wanted to do this but wanted to be legitamately be drinking coffee and not just a vanilla steamer. My friend I was with, told me a story of another buddy. He had read some proverb that the sweet and bitter was for the wayward one. (or something like it) and he stopped drinking his coffee with sugar and cream. He lost 20 lbs in the next month and the coffees flavor and taste really surfaced for him. So my friend read the same proverb to me, and I immediately went up and got a black coffee. It was the first time I had been able to drink my coffee straight black without saturating it with sugar and cream. The coffee instantly exploded with flavor for me and the rest is history. Been drinking my tasty coffee ever since.

My favorite coffee memory is visiting my best friend Jessie in Iowa, and having her introduce the aeropress to me. Jessie and I go way back, and have had some of our best and heartfelt conversations over coffee. I love now sharing these mornings with her husband and their 2 beautiful children.

Either having the first drink that showed me what specialty coffee could be at the cafe where I now work, or drinking fresh La Minita peaberry at the top of the farm, looking out onto sunset over the Tarazzu valley.
Reader from outside USA (South Africa to be exact)- Sharing favourite memory none the less: Only got hooked on coffee post university- loved press pot especially after discovering the first local micro roastery (iKhofi).
Then an epiphany: First ever espresso- April 2003, on a 4×4 trek to “primitive” neighbouring Mozambique! After 4 days of roughing it on back roads/ jeep tracks we arrive in Quelimane, Zambezia Province, Mozambique. Only place in town open for customers happens to be the very stately & colonial looking hotel (way to nice for four dirty scoundrels like us but hey we’re thirsty!). Turns out this last vestige of colonial Portugal knows they’re coffee & we spend a unforgettable afternoon on the Hotel’s porch drinking espresso & the local MM beer as the sun set over the bustling streets!
A life changing adventure for sure!

Favorite coffee memory: I didn’t actually like coffee or want anything to do with it until I was blessed with a job in a church office at the age of 30. How about that, dedicate your life to serving God and end up with a new habit, and not the kind a nun wears! (LOL). Anyhow the secretary and another friend from the congregation insisted I try some coffee,they made it very heavy with flavored creamer, and insist as they prepare my cup, “You’re gonna love this”! I choked down the first sip, but found it wasn’t bad, so I persisted in trying new flavors and combinations, fast forward a year later and a gourmet coffee shop opened in our town, by then I was completely hooked. Now some 8 and a half years since and I’m drinking black coffee and only gourmet stuff. Of course, encouraged daily by my coworkers, making every day a favorite coffee memory. (Except when the stuff with chicory is presented!)

My favorite coffee memory is with my Oma as a young child. She would warm up a cup of milk and add about a tablespoon of coffee to it so I could sit and chat and have coffee with her. Such a sweet memory!

One of my favorite coffee memories is when Mark Stroup of Durango Joes Coffee in Durango Colorado taught me how to roast out of an air popper in the back of a double wide trailer in the middle of the New Mexican desert. My life has never been the same!
INDONESIA: LOCAL COFFEE (includes sweeten condensed milk + spoonfuls of sugar) = a great time sitting around with neighbors and random strangers talking about life….you get used to the sweetness after time; I’m a black coffee person. I’ll be home for Christmas (in America)!

A new small roastery opened up in Cape Town city centre soon after I started dating the love of my life. We made many trips there, any excuse to spend time together. Then spent many hours learning about the coffee process, bonding with the Kiwi guy who ran the place & drinking great coffee.
He put a ring on it 10 months ago & we’re still finding excuses to drink coffee together
One of my favorite coffee memories was while I was in Ecuador. The coffee selection there had much to be desired, since most of it was shipped elsewhere for profit. After climbing to base-camp at Cotopaxi(the largest active volcano in the world) we were served a hot cup of instant “coffee”. It tasted nothing like coffee, and required both sugar and cream to become palatable. That was still one of the best cups of coffee I’ve ever had. It wasn’t the cup itself. The contents were garbage. It was the experience, the voyage, the people I was with, and the views that went on for miles.
My favorite coffee memory so far has to be reuniting my grandmother and great aunt with Chemex coffee pots. They used to enjoy it together before I was born. Unfortunately the pot broke and they hadn’t seen one again until I brought mine home for the holidays. It was wonderful to connect with my family with something I enjoy so much. It was an Ethiopian yergacheffe too!

I’ve since given up coffee back when I was trying to get pregnant, BUTTTTT, oh, how I long for a cup here and there! Back when I worked at good ‘ol WWIB Radio, the boys there helped me make my first ever pot of coffee after I had gotten into a fender bender on the road. I was hooked!

My favorite coffee memory is Sunday mornings before church sitting in front of our wood burner sharing the message of the day with my bride.
Remembering the wonderful walks through the streets of Italy. Stopping in a beautiful courtyard with friends. Sipping the most delicious cappuccinos and eating chocolate brioches. Not a care in the world just soaking up Gods Love.
My favorite memory of coffee would have to be a mission trip to Mexico down in the mountains. Being invited into a home and smelling the aroma of coffee as I would step inside. You were then handed a cup of coffee to drink!!

I loved the smell of coffee, but never liked the taste of it until I was in my mid-thirties. I can still remember the first time someone talked me into trying a blended frappe mocha at a coffee shop. I loved it and I’ve been hooked on iced coffee ever since. Now I grind the beans and make my own espresso to make iced coffee at home.

My favorite memory is sipping coffee in the early morning with my daughter. We were camping in the UP of Michigan sitting around a campfire watching the sun rise.
Whenever I have coffee…..it always gives me a new memory. One of the most significant ones was waking up christmas morning and having one while spending time with my family. You never know what new memories you make, but make sure you do it with a nice cup of joe ;D

Favorite memory – I can’t think of one specific one, but I can think of many yummy iced coffees that I have made here at home for myself (every morning via a cold-press system) … it’s one small joy of the morning.
Something happened on a summer night in June many moons ago…… on a first date at Pandora’s Cup in uptown. afterwards, dancing in the rain soaked streets somewhere between the walker, Lorring park and Orchestra Hall. something changed that night that lead me to the present, where i open the door to my own coffeeshop every morning where i can drink all i want!
favorite coffee memory…..some of my favorite ones are when i meet a friend out for a coffee. we sit and talk for hours. our coffee gets cold and we refill our cups. life happens over coffee.
Drinking way too much coffee with Kristy Carlson at the Blue Heron Cafe while studying for some final in college…I never knew coffee could make you feel tipsy after so much of it!
Tough call. I partially enjoy coffee because of all the awesome memories. My first date with a girl named Cassie was at Spyhouse. She ended up getting some hot cocoa I think, and lockin her keys in her car. I drove her home, chatting all the way, and back to retrieve her car. Our third date was at the Dunn on Central in Minneapolis…which was also the site of the start of our “week of dates” when, 2 years, later I got up the courage to see if she was interested in a long term role in my life. Lucky for me she was…lucky for us it was over coffee!!!

We used to own a coffeehouse. Besides some of the great customers we had that became friends, I think one of my fave memories was unlocking the door in the morning and walking into a warm, faintly lit coffeehouse where all the fabulous whole bean aromas waft to you. It’s such a comforting smell.

Having the forethought to bring coffee, our grinder, and our presspot up North to take over my uncle’s lakeside cabin this past summer. Sipping really good coffee in a companionable morning hush by the shore of lake Bemidji in northern Minnesota was wonderful.
One of my favorite memories with coffee is a recent one. Sitting on the shore of Lake Superior with my good friend and our families. Built a fire and brewed up a pot Nordic stlye (kokekaffe). We drink and the kids played while the Lake did it’s thing.
