Tomorrow We Jump…

… and I just wanted you to know. It has been a fight, a gigantic BATTLE to get to this point. We are sick (literally) and tired. This journey has catapulted me beyond any tiredness I have ever known. Tonight I cried in the hollow space of our little house. I walked around the empty…

Adrian - Hey Burundians, message from your greatDane Godfather, took out a soccer ball to kick on the lawn and noticed this outsized Kangaroo like creature prancing, darting and dancing forward giving chase to the ball, couldnt believe it, Ella had converted into this springy outsized lanky puppy. The ball had no chance!
So I decided to take them all to the beach(Sasha, scooby and Ella) the role quickly got reversed and I got dragged by a suped up Gdane who clearly didnt know that others thought she might be over the hill. I had such a laugh at her chasing Sasha, all in all, she’s settling in nicely, she’s the A-dog so Sasha’s a bit grumpy but they have adapted nicely. Hope you’re safe the Padts

Deirdre Roworth - Kristy, beleive me, from someone who has just done the exact same thing, this is the worst time ever and from the minute you step on that plane things will get better! In a few days your new house will be a home and you will fill it with love, laughter new friends! Such exciting times lay ahead of you for you and your family! Much love, have a great time, don’t be sad, a whole new life is waiting for you! xxx Thinking of you xxx

then and now

A seven year old girl once stood on the sidewalk of her Chicago suburb. Out of what seemed like nowhere to her, two dobermans appeared. They were growling and barking and showing their pointy teeth. And then they ran. They ran straight at her, looking as menacing as they possibly could. The little girl wanted…

Lou-Lou - Hey Kristy

Even though i’ve never faced a doberman(or two) I know the paralysing fear you speak of. Because you know I’ve faced my doberman-like things and people. So I actually have tears in my eyes(not weeping) because I’m so proud of you and how brave you are being You are inspiring me to face the things i’m so afraid of and just jump! So go for it! I’m with you in everyway I can be. I feel you.

How not to Loose One’s Mind Crossing African Borders, and Other Useful Things to Know Before Driving to the Center of Africa

I tried to come up with a nice succinct title for my thoughts about the journey from Durban, South Africa to Bujumbura, Burundi. But like the roads I took, it may look like an inch on the map before you but the reality is it’s going to be long, hard and nearly inaccessible by…

Eldon Carlson - Will the story continue? Is there an end? Oh, to find out if our road warrier makes it! Cannot put down the book, even though I know how it ends. That’s right this is a blog and we will have to wait.

Bonita Cherry - Ok this poem is incredible. I have been brought to tears…

Wendy Charity - Hey Kristy

How is Neo doing?
Constantly thinking of you guys and Ben on his travels. Pray God’s strength and protection over you guys. I KNOW he goes ahead to make your path steady.

Lots of love
Wendy Charity (wife of Craig Charity :) )

A terrible, no good, very bad Father’s Day.

You see, there is this cherub cheeked baby. He’s sleeping right now a door away. Today when his mommy took him to the doctor, the doctor asked her a very hard question. He asked, “How old is your baby?” She sputtered and stumbled over the numbers in her tired mind until she had to admit……

Necia - love and prayers from me to you

Danielle - I’m with B. I wish I had flying for my super power. I’d fly there in minutes, hug you and take turns holding your babe and knocking stuff off your list. Love you my dear friend.

Bonnie Martin - Wishing for some superpowers so I could swoop in to give you hugs and help with all of the many unbelievable tasks you have on your plate. Alas… I have no super powers so I’ll do the best I can and ask the Big Guy to give you even more extra strength, energy and peace. Even though you don’t feel like it right now you have more of those characteristics than I could ever imagine. love to you!

shannon kelley - praying lots for you! God’s got this:)

JoC - Sending you warm fuzzies. It is very scary to have a sick child. It is 100x scarier when your partner/their dad is not currently present. Now, take that the reason he is away is because you are moving which is the same reason you may be giving away your dog and have no supplies in the house – and you have a mind numbing level of stress. Pls be gentle with yourself. (((hugs)))

Jessica Frawley - O Kristy…you are such a beautiful writer. Reading you blog made my heart hurt. I wish there was something I could do to help besides keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Please let me know if I can do more…
