One Day Down…

September 1, 2011 by karasscreative

…about 180 to go.

Dearest brave soul, you did greater than the greatest great I ever imagined. We are talking like, “Egh, it’s no big deal” levels of great. You walked right into that French speaking world with a comfort and ease I barely recognized. I am so at peace, so sure, and so in love with the way this journey is molding all of us… even though it’s not easy. You are full of greatness my boy, brimming to the top. I am amazed by you and I believe in a God that is hovering over the waters of your life. I have to, because I see it.

Love,

mom

p.s. When you are 20, don’t groan to me about these first-day-of-school-pic-a-tures… I brushed your hair like three times this morning and don’t forget… YOU are the one who gave yourself such a fabulous haircut!

Dear Myles, I showed Charlie (he is your cousin) your first day of school photo. He told me (his G’ma) that when he gets hair, he wants to have hair just like yours.

This is a great reminder that they are So much braver than us. As we worry about protecting them and they jump right in like it’s no big deal. Yeay for a great first day, Myles!

“What we desire our children to become, we must endeavor to be before them.” ~Andrew Combe

I think he’s becoming just what you’ve exampled for him. You guys are great, and brave!

Love your writing-and photos.Helps Grandma and Grand Baba sort of “be there”. Myles is so adorable, even with-maybe because of- his own new personal hair stylist:). Question-is this, is this year 4 yr. old K or actual kindergarten? So happy he has “Zach” in his class. Kristy, so good to read some more of the “positives” you are seeing in this journey. YOU will be speaking some French very soon-you are determined, and want to provide for and protect your family! We just read about the “gift of tongues” today. 1cor 14 says speaking in a tongue others understand is the best-we continue to pray as this new “tongue” gets natural for you!

Today I smiled to myself thinking about all the many days I’ve been full of worry as I sent my two little blond headed girls into that sea of black. Honestly, I still worry, I don’t think I’ll ever stop. As long as it keeps me on my knees, I’m ok
